In 1985, linguist and educator Helen Doron became inspired by the methods used by her child’s violin teacher, Dr. Suzuki, whose main principle was that all children possess a natural talent for music. Under the right conditions this talent can be encouraged naturally and without pressure. Helen Doron transferred this approach to language lessons. She wanted to create a nurturing environment in which children learn to understand and speak long before they begin to read and write, just like they would learn their mother tongue. The lesson should be lively and fun, while also encouraging creativity and stimulating emotional well-being. The result was astounding, and both parents and children were delighted!

Today—over 35 years later—Helen Doron English is an international educational provider with over 1000 Learning Centres in 38 countries. Three million children speak English today thanks to Helen Doron!
